The Bytecode Alliance is governed by a Governing Board. A Technical Steering Committee (TSC) reports to that board and provides technical oversight to [Hosted Projects](./projects/) and [Special Interest Groups](./SIGs/) (SIGs). Hosted Projects are source code repositories that are governed by the Bytecode Alliance. A Special Interest Group is a group of Bytecode Alliance members and invited participants who share an interest in a particular application or aspect of the technology that the Bytecode Alliance is working on. ## Governing Documents The Bytecode Alliance's governance and processes are defined in a variety of governing documents: - The [mission statement](./mission.md) describes the Bytecode Alliance's core mission - The [bylaws](https://bytecodealliance.org/assets/bylaws.pdf) define the legal entity's foundational rules - The [TSC Charter](./TSC/charter.md) defines the structure and processes of the TSC, with more information about [hosted project requirements](./TSC/core-and-hosted-projects.md) and [project governance](./TSC/hosted-project-governance.md) in additional documents - The [Operational Principals](./operational-principles.md) describe the standards we hold ourselves to - The [Code of Conduct](./CODE_OF_CONDUCT.md) describes the expected conduct in our community - The [Project License](./PROJECT_LICENSE) describes the default license the Bytecode Alliance uses, with exceptions listed [here](./projects/license-exceptions/README.md) - The [communication](./communication.md) document lays out tequirements and guidelines for how to communicate as a Bytecode Alliance participant - The [AI tools policy](./AI_TOOL_POLICY.md) document lays out the Alliance's policy on use of AI tools ## Recognized Contributors The Bytecode Alliance has a long list of contributors. We especially [recognize](./recognized-contributors.md) those that have made a material difference to the Alliance's goals, as [laid out in the TSC's charter](./TSC/charter.md#recognized-contributors). ## Hosted Projects and SIGs More information about individual Projects and SIGs can be found in these folders: - The [templates](templates) folder contains templates for new Hosted Project and SIG proposals - The [SIGs](SIGs) folder contains information about each SIG in the Bytecode Alliance
